looking for an article that has been published within last 1-2 yrs regarding pagan holidays and practices.. the article mentions to some effect that pagan practices that have lost it's pagan connotation were a conscience matter.

As you know, I was a conscientious witness until Sept. And when I left, all the holidays were stilled banned.. Xmas, New Years, birthdays, Easter, 4th of July, memorial days..Halloween, Thanksgiving. But it was according to your conscience, as to exactly how you did (didn't) celebrate them. Another words..if you went to an xmas celebration, and just visited and ate, noone would yell, if you said you just went because 'it was the only day everyone got together.'
is armaggeddon going to last many, many years or is it going to be quick, fast and over with in a matter of months?
i know the bible does not say specifically but if you were to guess what would you guess on the amount of time for armaggeddon to last?

Blondie, I think we are in the middle of the great trib.. and armaggedon...(in a way). So, I do think we are in the midst of it.. But that's just me..

i have always been abit confused on this topic when i was a jw.
during the 1000 year reign do jw's believe that some will be killed by jesus and the 144,000 if they refuse to accept the jw's teaching during the 1000 year reign?
what if somebody is reserrected during the millieum and just don't wont to study with the survivors of the great tribulation will they be killed instantly or will they have a 1000 years to make up their minds?
I really don't care anymore what the JW's think about the future because they are all wrong...

Rev. 19:15 Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations.
With words, Jesus will kill...not with violence.
As far as his followers, they will beat their swords into plowshares..so no violence there either...

1,260 days or 2 1/2 years.. for Armaggedon...and that comes 1st..
the great tribulation...twice as long..

until i had come on this forum i didn't have a clue as to what complex and convoluted problems biblical text offers upon scholarly examination.

Gen. 17:20 NWT "but as regards Ishmael, I have heard you. Look! I will bless him & will make him fruitful & will multiply him very, very much. He will certainly produce 12 cheiftains, & I will make him a great nation."
This scripture leads me to believe that God has also blessed the muslim nation, as well as the bloodline of Issac.
As a witness, ofcourse, I believed that the bloodline of Issac, was the only ones God care a diddly squat about.
Now, I believe God, has always cared for all races of people, and has had a spiritual outlet for them all.
can anyone explain to me how the nwt( when referring to those who are to rule as kings and priests over the earth) uses the word "over" in rev 5:10 , whereas other translations uses the word "upon" ??
also acts 18:21 in the king james bible mentions how paul was to go to the .
feast/festival in jerusalem but yet there is no mention of this in the nwt,niv, and many other bibles?

The scripture in Rev. 5:9..
When translating from one language to another, sometimes one has a few choices of which words to use...In the case of 'over' or 'upon'..they mean almost the same thing..so the translater used the one he felt fit the best.
The Wt in the NWT translation in trying to make the point that the Kingdom of God is a spirit place in heaven and not a place on the Earth. Which I, personally feel is wrong now. So, that is why they chose to say 'over' rather than 'upon'.
i am wondering how those who believe jesus is the almighty lord god reconcile the following passages in chapter 1.
john 1:1 - ..."the word was god.
john 1:14 - "and the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the father,) full of grace and truth.

The claim that Jesus is 'divine in nature' can have many different meanings. Is he (a) God? John 1:1 seems to point the reader in that direction. However, Satan is also called a God in the Bible. What does this mean? Could it be that both have the same nature as God? Could they both be spirits?
That is what I think too. The bible calls the angel's 'flames of fire'. Also Jeh is a consuming fire. I believe they are of the same nature or substance....spirit being (whatever that really is)
In Psalm 52:1 NIV God preside in the great assembly, he gives judgement among the 'gods'. vs. 5 "I said, 'You are "gods", you are all sons of the Most High, But you will die like mere men; you will fall like every other ruler."
The angels are gods, therefore Satan and Jesus are gods.. god = divine, heavenly one.
But I do think, just because they are the same nature does not make them the same being!
